Nazareth Baptist Church Ebuhleni always respected MandelaNELSON MANDELA MADE TIME TO PRAY: The late former President Dr. Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela earned a special place in the hearts of many people globally, but for the Nazareth Baptist church EBUHLENI he even earned a special moment when his sad loss was official announced for the first time during the Sabbath day of December 7, 2013. An official announcement was according to the word of the leader HIS HOLINESS "UNYAZI LWEZULU" through Reverend Gumede one of the most senior Reverends of this oldest African Indigenous church with millions of membership. It was noted that people were still struggling to come to terms with the loss of this struggle icon who will dearly be missed by all. It's worth mentioning that the Sabbath day is a special one to the church community and the program always follows a strict process but the loss of Mandela did get an exception. Nelson Mandela made several visits to Nazareth Baptist Church EBUHLENI at Inanda where the headquarters of the church is, and is very interesting to note that it is in this township where he casted his first vote in 27 April 1994. The relationship that Dr. Nelson Mandela had with the church was really special, every time he visited the church you could hardly notice he was such a special person globally, when the congregation sang he sang, when they prayed he also prayed and that take a special person to do giving his calibre. He studied in the same University with the former Leader of the church INKOSI INYANGA YEZULU (A.K. SHEMBE) who is the grandfather to the current leader. The current leader HIS HOLINESS "UNYAZI LWEZULU" extended his words of condolences to Mandela family, people of South Africa and the world. Most of NBCE (Nazareth Baptist Church EBUHLENI) members will remember Dr. Nelson Mandela by the statement he made in the church in 1996 during the burial of Inkosi iNyanga yeZulu (Lord A.K. Shembe) when he said " This is an African Prophet, I was with him in Fort Hare University...only a fallen tree can be accurately measured how big it was." In that sad note may the spirit of Dr. Nelson Mandela rest in peace.
